“I was 20 pounds heavier and wanted to look like those girls with fantastically beautiful bodies like Jennifer Aniston or Jessica Alba, but I just couldn’t lose the weight,” Katherine Heigl said. “It’s only now that I realize how hard those girls work for their bodies, and what level of commitment they make to do that. I’m too lazy and I like food and I like my free time too much to spend it working out!”
I’m not a big fan of most of Katherine Heigl’s typically-sexist romantic comedies, or the fact that she’s calling out fellow actresses who may or may not have serious struggles with their body images, or that she is alluding to the fact that their bodies are beautiful, but her 20 pound heavier body isn’t…buuut I’m really glad she’s recognizing that these Hollywood bodies result from pretty obsessive behavior that most of us with other interests/lives just aren’t willing to do.
